Manor Downs located just 10 miles from Austin Texas is a class two racetrack. As the oldest pari-mutuel horse racing course in Texas, Manor Downs is a very popular venue amongst locals. All through the spring, Manor Downs hosts a number of exciting quarter horse and thoroughbred racing meets.
Manor Downs can be reached via the U.S. 290 east toward Texas’ Manor. On arriving at the establishment you will feel the excitement building up. Reading through the race card you can select your favorite quarter horse or thoroughbred steed running that day. Mark down who you would like to wager on, for which race and how much you are planning to wager. Placing your bet couldn’t be easier. You can then grab something to snack on from the strategically placed concessions stands and head to your seat of choice. You eagerly watch as the horses are led out and into the starting gate. All of a sudden they’re off and you can’t help sitting forward in your seat. Its nail-biting action. The end of the race nears and your horse is neck-and-neck with another. You jump right out your seat as your champion horse crosses the line. Victory! Your day at the races is paying off.
A number of exciting races are run at Texas’ Manor Downs. Among these are the following: Paint and Appaloosa Futurity, Longhorn Derby, Manor Downs Futurity, Manor Downs Maiden Fillies, Maiden Classic, Manor Downs Maturity and Frances Carr Distaff. Post time is 1:30 pm.
Simulcast wagering is also available throughout the week with the exception of Tuesdays. Admission and parking is free on purely simulcasting days. The Turf Club at Manor Downs is a real treat. Both non-smoking and smoking rooms are provided. Offering delicious meals such as lobster and steaks, the Turf Club is a great way to celebrate your wins for the day.
