Oklahoma Racetracks
The State of Oklahoma is home to three outstanding horse racing facilities, each with their own special features and each well supported by the horse racing community in their area. Located in Oklahoma City, Remington Park Racetrack was opened in 1988, and continues to be a hub of horse racing activity. Remington Park hosts both quarter horse and thoroughbred racing, with a full calendar of events each season. But the excitement doesn’t stop when the season draws to a close, as Remington Park features simulcast wagering and a vibrant casino. The Fair Meadows racetrack hosts race meets during both the Tulsa County Fair and Tulsa State Fair, with loads of excitement and fun for the entire family. With 42 days of thoroughbred, appaloosa, quarter and paint horse racing each year, the Will Rogers Downs horse racing track in Claremore has something for everyone.
The mission of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission is to encourage the breeding of horses, as well as to assist in the development of live racing, while at the same time ensuring compliance with Commission-licensed horse racing and gaming. The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association (OQGRA) supports its members by promoting the sport and liaising with authorities as and when needed.
