Hazel Park Horse Racing Track in Michigan
Hazel Park Raceway, located in Michigan on East Ten Mile Road, is known for hosting some of the greatest harness racing events in the United States. A lovely track, exciting racing, simulcasting and fantastic facilities means only the best for eager racegoers.
Hazel Park harness raceway was opened as a dual-breed facility in 1949 and introduced harness racing in 1953. As of 1985 Hazel Park came to exclusively operate as a harness racing establishment. Of note is the fact that Hazel Park was home to the first 5/8 mile track in the country. As such, a number of top steeds and riders have come to test their skills on this track. Michigan is well-known for its high standard of harness racing. This, along with an increase in the number of racing stables, has lead to Hazel Park Raceway’s success and top status in the horse racing industry.
Live harness racing is held at Hazel Park Raceway from April through to October. The 5/8 mile track has a width of 80 feet, and the speed rating is 2:00:3. A number of large stakes are held at Hazel Park such as the Motor City Pace, Nicole Hudock Memorial Pace, Rose Red Pace and Wm.C.Connors Trot. Post times are 7:45 pm. The grandstand has a capacity of 9,200 and the clubhouse of 3,000 which means there is always plenty of space for the many patrons of Hazel Park. Admission and parking is currently free at the raceway. Simulcast racing and wagering is available at Hazel Park throughout the year, every day of the week. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the Winner’s Circle Dining Room.
Aside from great harness races, Hazel Park Raceway hosts a variety of fun events such as live entertainment, barbecues, fund-raisers, fireworks displays and more. Regular patrons can benefit from the Winner’s Circle Club. This club allows you to earn points whenever you make a wager. Points can be redeemed for a variety of great offers.
