Japan Association for International Horse Racing
The Japan Association for International Horse Racing was established in April 1993 to promote good relations between the Japanese horse racing industry and worldwide racing associations. Horse racing is popular the world over and Japan is no exception. In fact, in recent years, horse racing has absolutely flourished in the country and it is quickly catching up with nations in the west.
One of the founding principles of the Japan Association for International Horse Racing (JAIR) is the fact that horse racing on a global scale calls for international interaction and the exchange of information in all aspects of the Sport of Kings. Information such as breeding and rearing technology as well as the organizing of international racing meets needs to be communicated. In Japan’s horse racing industry there are many racing organizations in operation. Before the creation of JAIR each of these groups would deal separately with international issues which resulted in a disunity and inconsistency in Japan’s international approach. With this in mind, the Japan Association for International Horse Racing was formed to promote a single approach to international exchanges.
The chief purpose of the Japan Association for International Horse Racing is to encourage mutual understanding between Japan and other countries throughout the world. It also improves human resources in the country and around the world. Through the exchange of technology and information the Japanese horse racing industry can benefit and flourish. JAIR engages in a number of business activities so as to fulfill its objectives. The association gathers and provides information overseas. They support technical exchanges between horse racing personnel. JAIR also participates in and supports the organization of international horse racing conferences.
JAIR is located in Tokyo. The Japan Association for International Horse Racing is vital for the growth and continued success of the horse racing industry in Japan.
