Three in a Row
A festival is on at the famous Cheltenham race track in the UK until this Friday March 17. The first two days have been difficult for wagers, with intense competition for places and wins. Thursday March 16 is no different, with Golden Cross and Derby winning rider Johnny Murtagh astride Golden Cross. Mighty Man and Ambobo are other challengers for the legendary 11-year old Francois Doumen trained Baracouda. This magnificent race horse has always had a place in the World Hurdle, but the fact that it has not raced for a year now could go against its chances of making a hat-trick of wins and places in this great event.
The Cheltenham race track is near the city center and has a casual fun ambience, without a dress code. It can be windy and cool though, as in much of the UK! Gates open 2 hours before events, and places are taken up quickly as the race track has hordes of avid followers! You can follow events from the comfort of your home though, and enjoy the fruits of online betting as well!
Remember that Cheltenham is more than 4 hours ahead of EST, so get moving if you want a piece of the action on the last day of the festival! There are other important events near Easter and in May as well, so today is a good time to plan your next short vacation!
