Fan Hanover Stakes Racing this Weekend
Mohawk Racecourse is located in Ontario and is a popular harness racing track that not only look towards racing as a revenue but its slot machine parlor, which in turn allows the Mohawk Racecourse to offer bigger purses and attract the elite of the harness racing industry. One of its immensely supported racing events of the year is the Fan Hanover Stakes for three year old filly pacers, which boasts a purse of $733 000. This year, the final of the Fan Hanover Stakes takes place on Saturday, 15 June 2008, and the big names in harness racing are gearing up for the prestigious event.
The four elimination races for the Fan Hanover Stakes final took place on Saturday, and Tug River Princess proved that she was still on top of her game. She not only won her elimination race by three and a half lengths, but also clocked the fastest time for all four the races at 1:51.1. Cuz She Can followed her home in second position and I’m Just Special finished third. Tug River Princess is daughter to Aucryifiwanto and Badlands Hanover, and she has won all thirteen of her career starts. As an undefeated filly, Tug River Princess is one of the favorites going into next Saturday’s final.
A formidable competitor, who won her elimination race, is A And G’s Confusion. Also winning her heat in over a length and with an almost identical time to Tug River Princess (1:51.2), she will definitely be giving the Princess a run for her money. With career earnings of over $800 000 (earned last season) and with the elimination race being her first win of this season, of which the Fan Hanover Stakes elimination was her second start, she might not be undefeated, but she most certainly has what it takes to win.
The first and second place horses in each racing event automatically go through to the final event, and the last two places of the ten field line up are chosen by a draw. The line-up for next Saturday therefore consists of Tug River Princess, A And G’s Confusion, Artimittateslife, Has An Attitude, Up Front Bethann, A Fiesty Affair, Chancey Lady, Cuz She Can, Cruzin Inya Jammys and Sprig Hanover. It is going to be a nail biting race, with Tug River Princess and A And G’s Confusion facing off against each other, as well as the two horses drawn by lot, namely Cruzin Inya Jammys and Chancey Lady, trying to make the most of their second chance at Fan Hanover Stakes glory. Harness racing enthusiasts are advised not to miss out on this great event.
