Dubai International Racing Carnival in January 2008

On 17 January 2008 one of premier events on the World horse racing calendar will take place, the 2008 Dubai International Racing Carnival. It is a race meeting that will see some of the top horses from across the globe compete for top honors, and getting chosen to run in the Dubai International Racing Carnival is a hard earned honor. The horses selected for next year’s race have been watched throughout the 2007 horse racing season, and only the most deserving will be facing off at this glamorous event.

The Dubai International Racing Carnival tries to ensure that the horses that run against each other represent a number of countries and that the race day itself is organized to the highest standard. Everyone who attends this stylish event has great expectations for the racing and for the international representation that the race displays.

Over and above the entrants from the UAE there were eighteen international contenders at the 2007 Carnival. Japan and Australia were entered into the race for the first time and many were curious to see how the newcomers would compete. In total there will be twenty one horses racing in the upcoming Dubai International Racing Carnival, with an intimidating line up of names such as Halicarnassus, Eagle Mountain, Linngari, Mystical, Kandidate, Southern Empire, Banknote, Jack Sullivan, Royal Oath, Yellowstone, Majestic Roy and Oracle West. Countries such as India, Great Britain, France and South Africa, will all be at the Dubai International Racing Carnival and racing for victory. All the horses entered have won Group 1 races during the 2007 horse racing season.

Mick Cannon, trainer of both Majestic Roy and Halicarnassus, has warned international contenders to be wary of the local talent. His latest winning addition to his racing team, Youmzain, has been named as one of the highest rated horses ever to compete in the Dubai International Racing Carnival. But as a horse trainer with a place in his heart for every one of his horses, Cannon has said that he has faith in all his horses and believes they will perform at their best.

The Dubai International Racing Carnival is set to be an event that will overshadow all others. A prestigious racing event that will impress and exceed even the highest expectations.
