Dubai Horse Racing – Electrifying Horse Racing at Dubai
Brass Hat must be still wondering what happened last Saturday (March 25, 2006), as Frankie Dettori took Electrocutionist past the entire field in the final stretch for a Dubai win that spectators will savor for a long time.
Bookmaker hearts must have missed many beats when Dettori allowed his magnificent steed to drop back in to sixth place amongst 11 competitors. This followed a spurt of dizzying speed when the son of Red Ransom seemed to overcome an inside post and take an early lead. Dettori seemed to lull his peers in to complacency as he fell back, and it seemed for awhile that Brass Hat would take the race. Wilko seemed to be the only challenge of substance, and Dettori was all of 50 yards behind at one point.
The final burst took everyone by surprise, but Dettori and Electrocutionist must have figured it out together well in advance!
Sheik Mohamed’s Godolphin Racing Stable is Electrocutionist’s home. The race at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai, United Arab Emirates was the world’s richest at $6 million. The race was keenly awaited all over the world, and we are grateful to Dettori and to Electrocutionist for making it an evening to remember! It will go a long way in cementing Dubai’s place as one of the most exciting and elegant sites of in horse racing today. Enthusiasts and celebrities had flown in to the ultra-modern center of commerce and investment from all over the world, to witness this crown jewel in Dubai’s social calendar.
